I found these books around 2001 after two friends who knew my book taste the best told me repeatedly for years that #WheelOfTime would be my favorite series. I hesitated at first, but soon got so engulfed in the series I basically quit life for a year to read everything that was out at that time, even putting the books above my studies in college-which almost kept me from graduating. 😂 When I had read everything I could, I just re-read the books until more books came out, and actually had to force myself to read ANYTHING else. When RJ put out #NewSpring, I waited in line for hours to get him to sign my books and take this picture with me. I was trembling when I finally got to meet him and the stutter I try to keep in check was out of control, but he was patient enough with me and now I have this photo and his signed books as some of my most treasured possessions. When I first got to meet George RR Martin & chatted with him for an hour, I told him how I came to find HIS books through a blog post that RJ had written citing his top ten fantasy series. #GoT was #2 (The Last Unicorn trilogy was #1). All George and I talked about was Robert Jordan and honestly it was one of the greatest moments of my life in fandom. I have since pushed #WoT on two of my brothers and it is something we now share as a family. Thank you, Robert Jordan. Happy birthday.
