Photo by @Cory Richards | Stilt fishing came into being in Sri Lanka just after World War II and was in wide practice up the coast until the 2004 tsunami. Due to the tsunami's wreckage of damaged coastlines, many stilt fishers were unable to utilize this method in catching fish. This reduced access to fish has made many fisherman transition into farming.
