I started in the high Andean region of Cuzco so I decided to call it Alta Moda because of the play on words. Alta Moda is Spanish for high fashion and I believe these dresses represented high fashion for Peru, and the altitude justified the name as well. Documenting all the traditional costumes of Peru became my passion and responsibility, not just as a photographer but as a Peruvian. I feel that Peru has such beautiful variety and traditional customes that are not always celebrated enough, so I wanted to help with that. - Empecé la serie Alta Moda hace diez años.
