In September 2019, Maison @Ruinart hosted an event in Reims. During this day in the champagne region, the Maison unveiled Retour Aux Sources, an immersive installation created by a duo of up-and-coming artists who achieve surprising results by sustainably combining technological innovation with art. Mouawad Laurier is the collective name for two artists who work and live together. Maya Mouawad and Cyril Laurier have been collaborating on innovative artistic projects together around the world for many years. Guests were also invited to discover the vines and the harvesting activity, in presence of Frédéric Dufour, CEO of the Maison. Retour aux Sources is an autonomous entity that inhabits the crayère chalk cellar, and is able to perceive the world around it. It expresses the changes in seasons, climate, wind, and temperature, as well as the phases in winemaking including budbreak, harvest, fermentations, riddling, maturation, and so on.
