Drained. Dealing with a flood of emotions. • Often times I would head down to get lunch and find myself in the elevator with a family getting discharged and be in tears hoping our day was coming soon • I was thrilled when I got the news that it looked like we would be able to spend Christmas at home. Only to learn of a setback days before that crushed me. We made the most of Christmas in the NICU. • Our NICU nurses were phenomenal. Honestly, they were the most incredible part of our stay. I credit them in helping us make it. They went above and beyond. They taught us so much, were a source of comfort and simply amazing at their job • I know many families who had and continue to have much more difficult paths then ours. Much longer stays and more complex issues. No matter the circumstances you are never prepared • Here’s to all the NICU strong mamas and families, the incredible nurses & doctors and all the loved ones who are a source of support during such a hard time.
