Please take a second to read, get inspired, and get involved 🌎 “On August 8, a hot, but fairly pleasant day in Boston, I remember the awful, creeping dread of watching my mother making call after frantic call home to Kottayam. The state of Kerala, India, where our cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents live, was flooded and 450 people were reported dead. While any monsoon season could bring minor floods and downpours, this was unprecedented. Mudslides full of debris was sent racing down from higher altitudes into neighborhoods, making escape almost impossible. Hearing the panic in my mother’s eyes, I suddenly knew climate change in a more real way than ever before. The relatively tempered climate of Boston, Massachusetts, had allowed me to believe I could sit and watch others try to tackle this issue. But these issues do not solve themselves. Even now, Tamil Nadu, the state just right of Kerala is suffering a massive depletion of water. There are many solutions to climate change that require our best efforts to be implanted. Carbon pricing is one critical weapon in the war on climate change.
