リトル・ブーツさんのインスタグラム写真 - (リトル・ブーツInstagram)「Great session with @medlar_ today!🕺🏻 I had a weird journey with sessions the last few years, some bad experiences that knocked my confidence, and started retreating more and more to writing and producing by myself at home in my studio. Writing songs for a living is a weird game. For a while it felt to me like everyone seemed to just want to write the same song, whoever sang the loudest wrote the melody, whatever words flowed softest on the ear made the lyric, whether it made sense or not. I started to question my love of pop music. Call me old fashioned but building chords from clicking blocks and prophet 5s from drag and drops never felt quite right. 30 years of piano, 20 of synths and a lifelong ABBA obsession had me too hard wired. I’ve come back to collaborative writing from a new headspace, working with people on my wavelength I feel synergy with and I’m finding it so liberating and inspiring. The high you get from a great shared idea, the line you may never have had without that person in the room, being brave enough to be foolish and take risks, throw a ton at the wall and see what sticks, then rip it up and start again. Writing songs is magic, I think I lost it for a while but it’s all back and all I wanna do is work! I’m heading back to LA tomorrow and I want to write as much as possibly can the next few months.
