Today’s very personal piece is from Jared Sellick. “The fate of my home state of Florida is once again at risk from a terrible Hurricane. Less than a year ago Hurricane Michael ravaged my community and hometown and we are still picking up the pieces. We know why we are seeing more traumatic weather events around the world, it is because of climate change and it is because we have failed to take action. Florida is a very important state for electoral politics, yet the issue most crucial to the people of Florida is continually ignored. We are constantly assaulted by the result of our nation’s inaction. We need to all commit to demanding change from our elected officials and implement a tax on carbon that will hold the worst polluters accountable. I have had the opportunity to tell my community's story to a number of Florida congress members and demand action. Too often the worst polluters are the only ones at the table, but I know that my generation and communities around this country will rise up and defend my home and all communities affected by climate change.”」9月2日 2時44分
