Often time we think we are living in Democracy when really we are living in #Corporatocracy:
The corporation gives $$$ to the politician to fund the ‘democratic’ election campaign. In return the duly elected politician helps push through legislation to support the corporation’s special interests. It is 100% money orientated without a care for any other aspect of life.
Whether these fires have been started purposefully or not, what has been happening in the Amazon for years is a prime example of Corporatocracy in action.
Remember the Cree Indian Prophecy: “Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish been caught, and the last stream poisoned, will we realize we cannot eat money”.
Greed kills.
The other point made in this post (sorry, I don’t know the source) refers to meat consumption. 25% of carbon emissions comes from the meat/dairy industry. 25%! Much of the Amazon clearance is to accommodate that demand for mass produced meat.
Food for thought: maybe we should all steer clear of mass produced meat...???
If people don’t eat it, the corporations won’t produce it.
