As my career grew, I noticed the lack of fat models, and at that, black, fat models. If I didn’t feel represented as a caucasian, fat, heavily tattooed woman in media, what was it like for fat women of color?! Lonely as hell. That was until the likes of @luhshawnay (& @simonemariposa, @jezra_m, @enamasiama, plus @lizzobeeating!) came along and finally got the recognition they deserved. We have seen a cultural shift in media, magazines, and campaigns using more diverse models, but for visbly fat models, especially those of color, we have a LONG way to go. That’s why I was so honored when my friend @lpeopleswagner asked me to interview @luhshawnay for @teenvogue for a new series called ‘The F Word’.
