Many people look at my work and see Japanese #kawaii and I am interested in cuteness as an artistic tool. But I also deal with very serious and religious themes in my work. I’m often looking at the iconography of angels and seraphim for reference and color inspiration. You can see this in the various colored wings that my characters wear. Through these characters, I present the idea of a “savior”. They are the liberators or protectors of the world. Any time we see someone in need, the opportunity arises to offer help.
