By nature I’m a private person and shy away from discussing personal matters in a public way. But I will say that addiction and trauma have been very close to me in my life. My hope is that people will come away from this episode feeling not so alone in their grief, their brokenness, their trauma, their internal battles and sadness. And that the people in THEIR life will have a greater empathy and compassion and understanding of what this journey is really like- and take a moment before being so quick to judge. The human experience is complex, this life journey is complex. It’s impossible to know the entire story from the outside. Sometimes we aren’t even aware of the memories buried inside of our bodies that the mind has forgotten because it was too much to bear.
