Spending the day in LA, loving how eco-friendly my hotel is. Big reusable bottles in the shower, water for my traveling water bottle and credits when I conserve water by not having housekeeping in my room. How can we get the big chains to do more of this? Traveling can be so wasteful so let’s make some changes.

ms_ang1986 A lot of hotel chains are unionized. The saving water/eco friendly idea is great, but requesting the cleaners don't come in actually takes jobs away from them and does really very little to preserve the planet. It's a ploy by big hotels to cut staffing.

bismacottages Hi - we are a small hotel in Ubud Bali and have been doing these initiatives for the past 2 years. We are also a #refillmybottle station for passers by and only use metal straws. If we can so can the big guys 🙏🌎🙏

katielynn.1013 Love this. Yesss!!! 🤗 Also, Disney will give you a gift card if you opt to not have housekeeping (err.. mousekeeping) during your stay. We would have done it anyway, but the extra incentive was nice!

beourguestdest I think hotels and travel destinations in general need to offer water bottle filling machines so people can get in the habit of bringing their own bottle. Not mainstream enough yet.

awwkwrdunicorn We always put the sign out for housekeeping to not come in the room when we're staying in hotels. No reason not to reuse a towel if you're only there for a couple days!
