#hypeAF: At @rmsothebys recent Monterey car auction a one-of-three 1939 @Porsche Type 64 was mistakenly sold for $70 million USD. The car was initially given an opening bid of $13 million USD. However, due to the auctioneer’s British accent, the technical crew misheard “13” and thus an opening bid of $30 million USD appeared on the bid counter. The bids that followed the opener were submitted in $10 million USD increments, instead of $1 million USD increments. Head to the link in our bio for more details on the event.

I don't get it. So people were fine bidding $70M but when it got fixed to $17M they don't want it for a lower price?

Stop flaming around. The car ist easily worth much more than that. I would have placed a bid north of 100k...
