jaddalg @taco_benne @carlosvou @tanishdsilva @seohyun_kim31 yeah but you see downpicking is the trademark of early metallica songs, if you know your history of Metallica you’d know that James taught himself guitar so that’s why the majority of their songs are downpicking. Whilst not downpicking would conserve energy, they put all their energy into every performance they do so for them not downpicking early songs wouldn’t really be an option

But I mean, as a final song or mid song they could since like they made it so they're probably beyond perfect at playing it and James is a downpicking God. But still, you've got a point, it could sap their energy, especially if they're playing MoP right before or after.

taco_benne @jaddalg yes i agree with you. You don’t get that tight sound with alternate picking either. My point is just that it is possible to do it alternate picking. And i think james and kirk is still capable of playing the riff even though its hard

tanishdsilva @kollados_ lads lads lads, there's a simple answer to this. #worldwired It's the WorldWired tour, so it makes sense that they have to begin with a song from that album and Hardwired is first on the album and is also the lead single.
