Fishing with dolphins in Takaung, Irrawaddy River: here the dolphins are famous for helping fishermen. The fishermen summon the dolphins to chase fish close to their boats by rhythmically tapping the sides of the boat with a stick or jingling their nets. When they see the dolphin crest the surface, the nets are cast and the dolphin is rewarded with some of the catch. Unfortunately, the nets came up empty, as well as a good photograph of the dolphin, which stayed a good 20 meters away. #Irrawaddy #Myanmar #riverlife #Mandalay
