Former Vice President Joe Biden said it’s a “moral” failure on the part of the federal government if it does not pass significant gun control legislation, including banning assault weapons, in response to the torrent of mass shootings in recent years. “We will see only more and deadlier shootings if we continue to dodge the core issue of unregulated assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in our communities,” the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate wrote in an op-ed for The New York Times. “If we cannot rise to meet this moment, it won’t just be a political failure. It will be a moral one,” he continued. “It will mean that we accept the next inevitable tragedy. bradley_r_dick Biden does not decide on what is moral or not. Infringement of human rights, and owning firearms is a Human Right, does not make one moral. Yet the contrary. I do not want a government that can be controlled by the likes of Trump or maybe even worse, to be those who ONLY have firearms.... the USA is the 3rd most populous country in the world.
