Last fall I was blessed enough to embark on a journey of a lifetime, #AmericanSonPlay. In these deeply divided times, I believe this show is MORE than a play. ❤️
#AmericanSonPlay is a prayer that we see each other. It is an exercise in listening to each other. It is a channel through which we can matter to one another.
8x’s a week, my castmates and I (@stevepasquale @jeremymjordan & #EugeneLee) led by our brilliant director @iamkennyleon, walked onto the stage and dove into the depths of an experience that changed us forever. We are so grateful to every audience member who rode that roller coaster with us. AND we could not be more thrilled to now ride that roller coaster with ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! American Son will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12th!

I remember this scene. It was more than a play...it was an experience that many have had, sadly. You were powerful and I felt every emotion. My "American Son" sat beside me and we watched it together. It gave him such insight on why I have been so protective of him. Thank you for embodying all the mothers who have had this or a similar story.

I CANNOT WAIT to share this with everyone I know. I was lucky enough to experience it in the theatre, and as hard as I tried I couldn’t describe the powerful emotions it made me feel to family and friends. I can’t wait to watch it and talk about it with them. Conversations that @americansonplay inspires NEED to be had right now. 💕

This was such a great play and message! And I was able to experience this production in front row seats 😍😍 It was definitely a rollercoaster ride the entire way through.
