Picasso. I guess you’re not supposed to have favorites but he was in fact my favorite. I fell in love with him out at a barn where my other horses were. He was for sale but serious professional riders were looking at him to be their Grand Prix horse. When they were done testing him, I would give him a bath, walk him, feed him carrots and apples and talk to him. We were bonded. I was told to not buy him. He was too strong, hard to handle, needed a male rider etc. I bought him anyway cause I didn’t like how the people who were looking to buy him treated him. He became mine and I became his. He was gentle with me. Took me over jumps perfectly. I trusted him completely and he trusted me. I was in love. That love has never wavered. I turned him out to pasture many years ago.I wanted him to be a horse. To run free. To hang out with other horses. To just be a horse. I saw him often. Our love was still intact. Today, he suffered a ruptured intestine. No surgery possible. No way to save him. He died 20 minutes before I could even get to him. My heart is shattered. #picasso August 12-2019

coachfoxy You and I think alike. I brought a rare deaf horse (aka splash paint gene) ..cuz Im deaf. At first, I wanted to showcase this to Deaf Community (I did that at DeafNation Conference once 10 years ago). She is technically my horse therapy ..right after I found out that she took away all of my stress within two seconds. No other animal or people can fo this to me. I discovered this by accident within few months after I brought her. Not in my wild dream that she is my best therapy I ever had. I didnt ride her in last five years as I want her to be a simple horse like u do! I hope 🤞 you and ur horse will reunite one day! *hugs* 🙏

mariiine_joly J'ai perdu mon cheval le 1er juillet 2019, je sais à quel point c'est difficile de vivre sans notre moitié. Ils sont ce qu'on a de meilleurs dans la vie, une lumière parmi les ténèbres. Ils nous permettent d'avancer ou de nous relevé après des événements tragiques.. il ne se passe pas une journée sans que je pense à mon Nuts... mais il ne souffre plus et continu de me protégé d'en haut. J'espère que vous surmontrez cette épreuve, personne ne mérite de perdre sa moitié. Puisse ils reposaient en paix.. 🌹💕

blsedbx3 My heart hurts for you. You did what real loving human beings do for the animals of this Earth. I see too many good horses sold at auction by loving owners being bought by kill pen buyers . seen race horses sold to slaughter houses. There are evil people out there.. You saved him . You loved him , you will remember him .

kaffinebean I’m so sorry, I’ve walked that path and it is heartbreaking. I have always been in awe at how gentle and elegant horses are. They are big and strong and could easily hurt us, but instead they are willing and humble and they allow us into their world. Remember the beauty you brought to each other’s lives.

babyswayze81 Wow...what magical, powerful animals. Although I do no know what it is like to own a horse, I do know what it's like to have a furbaby, and to have that baby pass away. I am so sorry for your loss. I know that words will not ease the pain, bit know that our hearts are with you today. Rest easy Picasso.

belladone_octobre 😢 I'm so sorry for you. The love for our true friends is stronger than anything. I'm often told that I love animals more than People and that right because my animals have a sincere love and not mater who we are they don't execpt anything ! So sorry for you 😢 RIP Picasso
