Margaret Boykin is the director of film development at Ubisoft Film and Television where she oversees the film adaptation, development and production of Ubisoft’s award-winning games and develops original stories set in the world, culture and community of gaming for film. Since joining Ubisoft Film and Television, Boykin has made a concentrated effort to create more opportunities for women in the video game adaptation space. She co-leads Ubisoft’s Women’s Film and Television Fellowship, a six-month paid mentorship program now in its second year, where two female screenwriters evaluate the company’s extensive IP catalogue and pitch adaptations. Last year’s fellowship resulted in a script deal for a film adaptation for WEREWOLVES WITHIN. Boykin is a producer on all of Ubisoft Film and Television projects, including THE DIVISION film for Netflix, with Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star and produce through their Freckle Film and Nine Stories, respectively and David Leitch attached to direct and produce with Kelly McCormick, through their 87North Production banner with Rafe Judkins penning the script. Boykin is also producing a GHOST RECON adaptation with Bay Films for Warner Brothers, JUST DANCE with Olive Bridge Entertainment to produce for Screen Gems as well as a hybrid live-action / animation adaptation of the family-friendly brand RABBIDS.
