We are very disappointed and upset to hear from Ulta customers about your racial profiling. Endless accounts of how your staff follow POC around stores. How is that making anyone feel welcomed? I’ve just informed my nieces about this who are huge beauty shoppers at 17+19 and they both claimed they don’t feel free to explore at Ulta and prefer shopping at Sephora. A little shocked that this is just now coming to light. What are your plans to change this racist culture? We all know in this day and age and in our current climate that this type of customer profiling contributes to racism and supremacy. How dare you encourage such a tone with your business? Please do not direct us to reach out via an email. We want to know along with the public why this is a pervasive issue with Ulta.

@boo_a_ghost I work at Ulta and it is 100% NOT part of company culture. While I will never invalidate the profiling some customers have experienced I will also say that we are taught to keep an eye on BEHAVIORS. Not race. Obviously every store is different and i cannot speak for every Ulta. But to say this is "company culture" is not true. None of the girls that work in my store would EVER racially profile someone, and as a manager I would NEVER ask one of my employees to follow someone based on their skin color. we literally strive to make sure our guests have the best experience.

@ultabeauty Sadly seems like that is what you stand for. As a brand you shouldn’t have to train your staff on this after they’ve done something racially insensitive. They should be fired and dealt with immediately. You should hire people who aren’t racists and include it as part of their training. Really sad that I couldn’t shop in peace without be badgered by a white employee. Might as well admit you don’t trust people of color shopping in your stores.

How about y'all address the widespread, ridiculously despicable, Racial Profiling in your stores. I'm absolutely blown away that multiple ladies I know personally, who work in several of your stores all have similar stories. Of being Forced BY Management to stalk POC Customers as they go about their shopping. Do better, don't ignore this, address the situation, do your best to make things right. @ultabeauty @bbc @cnn @foxnews @nbcnewsnow @cbsnews

So I work at an ulta in Pennsylvania and I just want to say I’ve never ever seen any of my coworkers nor have I ever racially profiled anyone! Ulta is an amazing and inclusive company unlike Sephora. Im taller and curvy and I feel that they look me up and down in Sephora Because im not a size 2. But i am proud to work for my ulta store I can’t speak on behalf of any other store but yeah!

@nonbinarywaffle okay but personally I’ve shopped at Ulta my whole life and never experienced these things. Even going to ones in North Carolina and Texas. I think people are just playing the victim and making up stories for attention but I do think in rare situations some are real and in no way am I dismissing those cases.
