Learned a new word this week: Komorebi. A Japanese word meaning the sunshine filtering through the leaves of trees🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳, there’s no equivalent word in English. How BEAUTIFUL to have a dedicated word for this natural magic? 💫💫💫 What other words am I missing out on?! Sending you sunshine and magic today 😘😘😘

some wonderful japanese terms for you : Arigata-meiwaku: When somebody does you a favor you didn’t want them to do but they went ahead and did it anyway and, as a result, caused you a huge inconvenience but social convention requires you to thank them anyway.
Bakku-shan: A woman that looks far better from behind than from the front.
Kuchi zamishi: When you’re not hungry but you eat because your mouth is “lonely”.
Tsujigiri: The act of trying out a new sword on some random stranger.
Tsundoku: The act of buying a book and never getting around to reading it.

Feeling I’m so honored that you respected my mother language as Japanese.. I would like to raise one more word to introduce.. “ SETSUNAI “ is one of expression of feeling. It doesn’t have straight translation in English. But it means the feeling between sadness and happiness. Like it’s pain but still tears in deep sweet memories.. It’s gray zone, it’s not white but it’s not black, but for sure, this is the feeling so powerful..

Have you heard of Samidare (五月雨)? It’s continuous rain during rainy season in Japan. 五月 means May, and in the old calendar May was rainy season. 雨 means rain. We call this character of 雨 Ame. Samidare sounds beautiful to me, also I love the sound of Ame!

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".
