Meet the broadclub cuttlefish (Sepia latimanus)! It inhabits coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific, where it hunts for small fishes and crustaceans. The broadclub can reach a weight of 22 pounds (10 kilograms), which makes it one of the largest species of cuttlefish. Similar to some of its other cephalopod relatives, it’s a master of disguise and is able to alter the color and texture of its skin. If under threat, a cuttlefish will emit ink and make an escape; if unable to flee, it will mimic the color and texture of its own ink to “vanish.”
