When we knowingly put children in harm’s way, we lose any claim to moral or ethical high ground. We have completely lost our way.

I understand both sides there are legal ways to come into the United States when you are from a different country. Not saying that it is right for the United States to take parents away from their children when they are fleeing such a country for better. My biggest issue is I am a single mother of three children, and although one is now an adult I still have two minor children in my household. I barely make enough to scrape by. I am an educated person I have a college degree. I work very hard at the job that I do. I also have life-sustaining medication that I have to take on a daily basis due to thyroid cancer that resulted in my entire thyroid being removed and burned up. I think the thing that upsets me the most about the circumstances in the United States today is somebody who is illegal coming from another country who does not enter by legal ways is given the World by that I mean assistance is just flowing. I know this because I worked in a hospital and there were people in that hospital who are designated to help take care of those who were illegal get insurance and care. Yet I have to fight the government and show documentation and prove myself for needing life-sustaining medication just to get medical assistance. I don't qualify for any other care I make too much money and yet I'm still in the 250% below poverty range. So why is it that I as a single mother and barely able to receive resources someone coming in from outside of the country illegally is handed everything. It is not a balanced system. If I'm in my situation that I can guarantee there are millions of people in my situation as well. I don't ever want to see a child taken away from their parent like that but if they're not coming in Legally there are repercussions and these people know that by now. They take that risk knowingly.

Are you talking about the parents? Because they placed their children in this position. Congress passed laws years ago which states if you come into the country illegally you will be deported. I saw Obama do it for years because I worked in immigration and yes he separated families I saw this. I don’t recall one democrat or one celebrity say one word about it. The question remains do we have open borders or do we have laws that should be respected and followed. When law is enforced it’s not pretty. If I knew what I was doing was illegal and I could be arrested who’s fault is that??? My heart breaks for this child but I blame the parents they knew the risk.

Ok Aisha. This makes me so pissed I can't stand it. Did their parents break the law, yep. Is it the kids fault, no. Do they understand what is going on, for the most part no. Should the children be left out on the street unattended for the night? Really people. Hell no. If ICE had planned raids, fine, they have the right to do that. However, they need to realize that these people have lives too. With kids, elderly relatives and pets who may be at home or daycare or school waiting for their return. This was a poorly planned fiasco as best.

This has NOTHING to do with protecting the borders....it’s about shifting demographics in the near future and the impact of what that shift will cause! There are business owners, politicians, and corporations who themselves have employed people who lived here illegally, and it’s NEVER been “problematic” until it NO LONGER served those who have allowed it! It is MORALLY ABYSMAL to separate children from there families! Anyone who uses the defense “We are a nation of laws” means nothing when we cherry pick which laws we choose to enforce!

😡😡😡 the fact that HALF the people they picked up were let go means they are just arresting people based on their looks not on real data or intel...and that is racial profiling...this baby’s plea for her dad and all the other children separated from their parents should inspire our government to look at better ways to help families who come to this country looking for better opportunities...instead they throw them in cages....the question all over my timeline is “is the president racist?” #whatdoyouthink #vote2020

People keep saying there laws, there laws. For me there is no law someone could pass that would make me turn a blind eye to human suffering. It's like Nazi who keep repeating I was just following an order. The eighth amendment is suppose to protect people from cruel and unusual punishment. This is just plan cruel. They enter the country illegally they didn't murder anyone. The punishment doesn't fit the crime. This could be done in a more humane but I guess to many people have just given up on being human.
