Little girl sobs for her father after he was taken during the Mississippi ICE raids. She pleads for him to be let go: "I need my dad."

Attention citizens of United States.
The laws are passed by Congress. The law is you can’t come in to the country illegally. The law has been in place for more than the three years that the current president has been in office.
If you think that anybody should be able to come in to the country from anywhere at any time, ask your representative to put forth a bill changing the laws that have been in place for decades. Then also let us know how we are going to pay for millions more new people that don’t respect our country, won’t assimilate,
And just hate like you do. How does it feel to be mindless sheep being told to hate and complain about an issue that has been plaguing our country for longer than three years? Did you say anything before you were told to think a certain way? No you are just haters that have no concept of what is happening.
You just think what you are told to think.
You just hate because that is what you’ve been taught to do since you were very young.

I am from Jackson MS. About 300 of the detainees were released. Some simply didn’t have their papers and were here working legally. Some were sent home with ankle monitors to care for their kids. Some were taken to neighboring states for “processing” and are still detained. Many local businesses and churches have stepped up to help feed, house, and care for these kids whose parents were detained. These people are not animals, rapists, and murderers. They were at work for fucks sake. They came here to live the dream. No child should come home from their first day of school to an empty house and not know where their parents are or when they are going to see their parents again. It’s about cruelty and inhumanity. There’s no need to do this shit.

Perfect example of how the regime is selling their inhumane treatment... it's all about AUTHORITARIANISM. Certain Christian sects (ahem, Baptist) are raised to follow absolutist, literalist "Laws," to not question nor to develop critical thinking skills. (See above @liveshirtless response "I'm a strong Christian. I also follow law.") That is how Faux Nuze & GOP is spinning the situation, as it being about "RULE OF LAW upon which our civilized societies are based, ratjer than about care for refugees. <<< Be aware of these tactics.

What are you doing with your outrage though @sarabareilles ? It’s one thing to vent on social media but how about you also share how you’ve helped so that others can also help? Use your whiteness, privilege, money, and influence to start a movement. You have resource that most of us don’t. You have a wide reach. A post by a privileged white woman does nothing for this child or for anyone, really. You can do better.

It’s sad that parents break laws and think there shouldn’t be consequences and their kids have to deal with their bad choices. Entitlement is a problem with parents and their it’s sad their kids suffer for it. All actions have consequences in life. Sad for this girl and even more sad for the parent who should gone through the legal channels to come here.

A child should never have to endure something like this, but it’s the parents that affect the child. The father should have not illegally crossed the border because now his poor daughter is sad and terrified he should have thought about his actions and how it would affect his and her life.
