I am so incredibly excited and honoured to work with an organisation which does such amazing work in protecting and conserving wild animals and their natural habitat. About 4 years ago I was lucky enough to accompany Born Free on a project they were working on to rescue 3 bears and re-home them in a sanctuary in Greece. Seeing what the bears had been through was heart-breaking to me. Some of them had been forced to dance by putting them onto hot surfaces, others had been mistreated by their owners, all of them had suffered at the hands of people and had been exploited for tourism activities. What the trip made me realise is that there is so much work to be done to protect wild animals, and I’m so grateful Born Free exists. The work they do across the globe is truly humbling. Today we also launched the Raise The Red Flag initiative which enables all of us to be able to highlight situations we have seen across the world where we think animals might be being mistreated or held captive. This lets Born Free look into the situations and hopefully make a change for the better. I think by encouraging people to report what they have witnessed means more of us will be aware of the reality some of these animals are experiencing, and hopefully in time, this will lead to the ending of animal exploitation. I am so happy to be part of this change and would love it if you could help us make a change for a positive future for animals and end animal cruelty across the world.」8月8日 1時54分
