Hey America, it’s been a rough few days. I am not gonna sit here and act like I’m not affected or haven’t been affected. A lot of things just went down and it’s shaken me to my core. But I want you to know one thing, and I wanna ask you to do one thing, take a break from the hard news. Just come hang out with me tonight. Grab a friend, grab your family, grab a neighbor and watch #agt. One of the best things about AGT is that it reminds us how great we are, as people, as a country, and all the beautiful talent and beautiful people. It just reminds us that life is good, life is worth living. This is just a break from the hard news. We gotta love each other. EVERYBODY SAY LOVE. America has heart, I love you, and may God Bless YOU!

kina12 All the people coming down on him for mentioning the show clearly do not know what a good person he is. He isn’t blatantly promoting his show he is saying that America is more than just these negative tragedies that keep happening and that there are good things too. He just so happens to currently be on a show that showcases talent with uplifting positive stories. So naturally if you’re a part of something positive and negative things are happening you’d want to share the good. He’s just saying if you need a break from the bad grab your loved ones and do something or watch something uplifting together. Doesn’t have to be this show. He’s just offering an outlet since he’s a part of this one. Intent and the source it’s coming from matter. Don’t be so quick to attack.

mameeyum I can see what your genuine intention is by posting this but I guess you probably should have said something like "watch your favorite show" instead of mentioning a specific show because now a lot of people are misunderstanding your message, especially since you're suggesting a show that you host in. 😔 Still a great message though! The delivery could have just been better.

yamirami.303 This isn't a sales pitch or a plug! If my Rick and Morty comes on tonight and my friend is in a mood because of some stuff and I ask him to come and hang out and watch it with me, it isn't to rep the show. I'm doing it cuz I know it'll bring him joy in a trying time. Just like Terry wants to give us something in the midst of this nightmare.

_mira_arim I really REALLY appreciate your message and what you are trying to bring across, honestly. However, I also think maybe it's best to express your feelings regarding these tragic events and AGT separately. Since you are a host it can rub one the wrong way, something that's really unnecessary because both this message and the show is amazing!

madhouse_in_da_house I don't watch the news. I don't like that I can't trust the nation's sole source of information because they can lie on their big stories due to a lack of internal fact checking and opinion filtering. But I do love AGT, especially since the former Old Spice guy is the host.
