#worldbreastfeedingweek I would never have thought something so simple would be so complicated. My milk came in immediately (so lucky!) my daughter has always eaten well (little bit of reflux but all good) and breastfeeding her was never painful or frustrating (SO RARE) but the mastitis🥴, waking up in the middle of the night to pump😴, pulling off on the freeway to pump, or hiding in dark corners of houses while pumping or else I can’t sleep it’s SO PAINFUL🥵 (I’ve included the most glamorous I’ve ever looked while feeling like an effing cow) having to be conscious of everything I put or do not put in my body (it’s been almost two years if you count pregnancy) and that means alcohol, medication, even melatonin! I can’t even join in all of this cool CBD stuff that’s happening.But... no matter how much I HATE pumping or how complicated MY relationship with food is, it has been a joy, an honor and a no brainer to feed my daughter this way. 🙌🏽 My body has made it easy for us and i have loved every moment i get to spend this kind of time with her. Not every mother gets that. I don’t know if I will have it for much longer, but I will always take care of her and do what is best for us. (Once again f*ck pumping. Love you forever babay girl)

So its been how many months 9 since you have birth to your daughter. Are you still breast feeding which she can go right to the cup . I should of breast fed my three longer but only did it for three months to much was going on people always knocking at my door. My youngest was allergic to formula and I had to put him on cows milk a 6 months but I followed the doctors orders and he is in his 30s and a pizza eater. My son does not eat hamburgers or hotdogs he might eat chicken once in a while but he lives off Pizza and he does eat tocos now and then. Picky eater my oldest my daughter stopped eating meat at 12 but started eating chicken and turkey again at 16 now 36 she has no Gall bladder and has to becareful what she eats and she quit drinking 4 years ago it made her sick. People dont understand that alcohol is hard on the body mostly your kidneys. My middle son now eats healthy his wife cooks healthy food. I am now having to change what I eat no popc o rn no peanuts no seeds no heavy salty foods and not to much sweets either everything I love to eat now makes me sick even Almonds. Wow our food becoming poison to the body.

I went through my whole pregnancy so excited to breastfeed, unfortunately, my son was born with a longer frenulum (skin that connects upper lip to gum) and he physically couldn’t latch. I tried so hard for the first 2 days of his life and spent so many hours crying and frustrated. I went into the doctor when he was 3 days old in tears because he wouldn’t latch and he wouldn’t take a bottle. That’s when they told me about his frenulum and that he had to be bottle fed. Since he never latched or successfully nursed, my milk never fully came in. I was devastated. I wanted so badly to breastfeed. My son is now over a year old, was bottle fed, and is as happy and healthy as ever, but not being able to breastfeed still haunts my mind. It’s a beautiful bonding experience that not all of us get to have. I always tell breastfeeding moms to enjoy it, know that you are doing an amazing thing for your child. ❤️

@sleepinthegardn I’ve come back to read this as I’m pumping. My daughter started protesting nursing about 2 months ago (she’s 4mo now) so I’ve been exclusively pumping for the last 2 months. Pumping is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, I barely sleep and have to plan my entire life around the schedule and don’t get to do a lot of the fun things I used to. Just like you it’s been 2 years, including the pregnancy, of altering almost everything for my body, to sustain another, but would do it again, no questions asked. None of my friends of been through this and it’s so nice to hear other mamas are feeling my pain lol!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

When my daughter was born I did have to pump alot my breast would fill up to fast and it was a hand pump so you younger generation have it made with an electric pump. Babys are better off breast fed my mom could not breast feed us kids do to yellow jaundice. God made women to have bigger Breasts to feed babies and to tell the difference bewteen man and women. I can not think of the word I was trying to say. We women are unique and thats the way God made us no man will ever no our pain of giving birth. Enjoy you babygirl while it lasts they grow way to fast. Babies are a blessing its how you raise them that counts.

Preach!!! I breastfed my daughter for almost 2 years(she self weaned 3 days before her 2nd birthday)! Everything came so easy and naturally almost immediately after giving birth BUT THE MASTITIS 😫 I think I had it 7 or 8 times over that two year span!!! It was absolutely brutal! Every time I flew somewhere I could pretty much count on it! Or when my daughter went through a new sleep cycle or growth spurt. But all in all it was totally worth it! One day you’ll look back and won’t even remember the hard times, just the happy moments of bonding and snuggling ☺️

Hey, not sure if you have ever heard this, but pumping can make getting mastitis easier. I mean, once you have it I get it, but otherwise it deregulates your milk production. Also, I managed to treat mastitis several times with a homeopathic called phytolacca. Look it up. Little pellets, totally harmless and safe. It can be used preventatively. I breastfed until my daughter was 3 yrs old. After the hell I went through for the first 6 months, we made it count after it all got worked out. 🤩
