When I was young, I loved playing with building blocks. And I guess I never got tired of playing the same game. A chef, unlike a home cook, doesn’t follow a recipe for a complete cake - with a prescribed base, filling, and finishing. We use basic recipes for components, and build those into cookies, cakes, tarts, and masterpieces. When I thought of writing a cookbook for the home cook, this was the type of baking I wanted to share with you - where you can choose different tried and true recipes, mix and match, and build an endless set of possible desserts. Simple doesn't mean un-creative. Starting at the basics can be limitless.

I’m so happy you have a book for the home cook. As a professional Chef, I know others can sometimes be overwhelmed by the dishes we create. The way you break the complexity of cooking down sounds amazing. I think it’s safe to say your book will probably be the gold standard for home cooks! 💖🙌

Very intelligent approach for a baking book. Does it have a flavor table where you can see what flavors usually work well together? This usually helps a lot when trying to mix and match different recipes.
