Remembering Marilyn today. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to visit Marilyn’s home at 12305 Fifth Helena drive in Brentwood, Los Angeles. It is more notable as the final residence of Marilyn Monroe and the location of her death 57 years ago today.
It was amazing to see how simply she lived considering she was the biggest star in the world. To stand in her bedroom looking out at her pool was mind blowing. The latin crest in the last image was at the entrance to her front door. It translates to “I’m finishing the journey”.

It’s such a great house. When it was renovated I believe they found wiring in the walls that some believe may suggest she was wiretapped. But maybe just more conspiracy that reality and just old wiring left in the walls. She didn’t make that much money at the time. The reason for her modest residence.

O visited it as well many years ago when it was for sale and came out with the same thoughts as you @philiptreacy did. Loved that house, it was sweet, charming and in a great location, hope it is still the same.

Oh how sad sad very sad - I so wish she had found some happiness just to cling on to just when she was so vulnerable xxx

She was so misunderstood. It’s such a simple house in the Spanish Colonial style commonly seen in LA
