I’m so heartbroken and angry to hear about the shootings over the past two days. I know it’s not enough to just post our prayers here on Instagram but things have to change. Link in my bio to join the @marchforourlives movement. My love and support goes out to the families of the victims....

@sarina_1a are you kidding me? Paris has a stabbing issue, people in France are being run over by vans in big crowds. Like they said earlier, acid is being thrown at people. People will find ways to hurt others- not everything is a guns fault. But what do you expect? Are we going to ban cars now because mentally unstable people were ran over? Are we going to ban knives? Are we going to ban pencils from schools because they’re too sharp? It’s not about “giving up our beloved weapons”, is about protecting ourselves from people who want to harm us. So if you’re going to laugh about “pointless stupid shootings”, I suggest you shut your mouth, because the victims families are suffering because of what could’ve been avoided if someone could’ve defended them and ended the situation earlier. How do you think police stop them? Guns. They don’t use knives. They don’t ask them to kindly step away. I’ve been reading all of these replies, and it just baffles me how close minded people can be. I am completely open to more gun testing to make sure that they’re being handed over securely and to the right people, and all you’re saying is to give up guns, and change your attitude. I don’t know how more close minded you can get.

Take away the guns. If civilians can’t easily get them then civilians can’t fire them and kill people. It’s not just mental illness killing people it’s angry people with crazed ideas, not all people with extremist views can be classified as mentally ill. They know full well what they are doing, they are calculated. The NRA has a lot to answer for...... American people need to stand up and take them down. Fight for all the children that have lost their lives instead of fighting for an outdated law. There’s no freedom in the fear of being shot dead in schools, malls, cinemas, street corners. Take them down, change the laws and end the bloodshed.

The Trump machinery is spinning these racist killings into only a mental health issue. This is an oversimplification and is patently untrue but is a convenient dodge from the racism issue. There are literally thousands of Americans dealing and coping with mental health issues yet have not gone postal and shot up people in places far, far away from where they live. On the other hand, racists statistically account for about 90% of all US shootings since Trump has taken office. Let's call a spade a spade, Trump is a racist and his hate speech is what triggers the shootings that his fellow racists have committed.

They murder in gun-free areas. They wouldn't do that at a shooting range, or at a police station. Cowards look for victims they know they won't be able to react to. The victims died because they had no way to defend themselves and not because the bad guys had guns. Disarmamentism only worsens the situation as good people may not want a weapon, but the criminals who will surely use them for evil will not give away their concealed weapons, but of course, they would love that fewer people had guns, would mean more chances of a successful attack, and in that, more victims.

@sarina_1a your logic is beyond flawed. If I carry and a shooter happens to show up where I am then I can stop that shooter from killing more people. Funny thing is you are throwing a lot of assumptions out there based on things I never once said. I'm ensuring the safety of both myself and others around me. I'm not going to be a victim. Killing someone who is trying to kill others is better than standing by while you let those other people die. If you let yourself constantly be a victim then you are a parasite on society.

@asmrross2k19 yes our response to certain pressures will always be different because we are all unique individuals. Some people are weaker mentally and some people are stronger. We all have our limits and we all have our breaking points. Those types of people who snap one day because of something tragic and people battling depression or who have been bullied or abused for a long period of time are very different.
