i went to see this the day it came out. i was beyond excited, especially after the jungle book which i fell in love with despite the fact that i don’t particularly love the original. it had wild animals as all but one primary character so i was stoked about the lion king because its been my favorite disney movie since i was four years old. but somehow they bombed. real bad. my best friend and i were in a massively disappointed daze the rest of the night after seeing this. they destroyed scar and rafiki’s characters. the voice acting was extremely subpar with several main characters. not all of them, the ones who weren’t subpar were phenomenal. the imagery was astounding, they did an amazing job on that aspect. but you can’t just have a scar who is not having fun being evil and sassy or a rafiki that is not in the least bit eccentric and expect it to be good. i am massively disappointed in this movie. they cut out sooo many iconic scenes; the hyena chase was cut super short, mufasa wasn’t actually a shape in the clouds, AND WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THAT RENDITION OF BE PREPARED?! did they actually think that lived up to the original at all? i don’t need it to be exactly the same; i actually love the new aladdin better than the old one and they changed tons more in that than they did in this. but i need it to still be an actual song, not scar giving a speech with rhythm while the hyenas chant. forever severely disappointed, @disneystudios

All y'all bad comment and criticism on the film still doesn't change the fact that these amazing actors are getting more pay than you n your entire family combine and that the movie is still showing all over the world and tickets are selling everyday... ppl watching it over n over or for the first time.. the problem with all of you is that you're stuck in the past and judging the actors based on the past actor.. I'm a soul Disney lover n lion king as well n what they did was perfect because 1. Because of the realistic attempt the dialogue changed so the film itself was unpredictable n intriguing. 2. The audience had to accept that the animation made the impossible possible n so as a live action pack film logic rules n so most of the things had to change. 3. Stop being stupid n using them talking for not having implement the hula or any other impossible stunt, like hell if them go 100% realistic niggas yall going in carib to watch a bunch of animals walking around making animal sounds. Something you can get from discovery channel. 4. At the end if the day, they all still getting paid n yall already gave them your movie so you lose they win stfu. Love Disney supporting yall cant wait for maleficent 2 ❤️❤️❤️ keep doing what yall doing till I come audition for a movie, in college doing my BFA 😁😁

I wish if they were gonna remake something as timeless as this film that maybe they put their own spin on things. Like what they did with "Maleficent (2014/2019)" maybe tell the story from say, Scar's point of view, make it the Lion King we know.. but it's own twist. I've always wanted to know why Scar had so much jealousy & hatred for his brother, their growing up together etc. Disney could've done something beautiful with that, & with better photo realism, maybe do what they did with Aslan's animation in "The Chronicles of Narnia (2005)" which was quite impressive for it's time, & Aslan managed to look real with human like expression, Disney missed it with this one, & yes I have not watched, but from some of the trailers & reviews, it was just moving mouths & no soul in their expressions/eyes.

I appreciate all the affort that is put in this production film. It's a beautiful remake that will live long through generations. I just love the attempt on telling a story with an advanced technologies that we've had in our life time. It's beautiful, I don't get with the hates. Original or not, it's beautiful nonetheless. Spread the message and love. ❤️

What I hate about the idea of the remakes even if I enjoy the movies themselves, is that kids seeing these now will likely never search up the originals, and thus the true masterpieces will be lost over time. It's kind of a sad statement that something like the original Lion King will just become more fodder.

Look at all these fucking whiny ass grown ups acting like children when clearly the target demographic was literally children. It's ironic that the same people who are complaining also contributed to the movie making over a billion dollars so that pretty tells disney that you'll cry but give them money anyway.
