In every moment of unhealed memory exists an emotion, and that painful memory takes every cell of your body right back to the emotional/physical state it was in when it was hurt so deeply. You may feel the need to hear “I’m sorry” from those who hurt you, and so often it goes unsaid, but the trauma doesn’t need to go unhealed until you hear those words. You can forgive for YOU, you can literally tell yourself the exact words you believe you needed them to say, as many times as it takes to find closure and healing. An unhealed heart can keep one in a perpetual state of victimization, but when forgiveness is allowed, you not only pardon the one who may never get around to apologizing, but you release your beautiful heart from a contracted state of fight-or-flight and allow it to let in future experiences of unexpected growth and expansion without the hesitation of being harmed because your heart will now know it can feel safe in the comfort of your ever-loving resiliency. 💜👽☮️ - photo by @mattreiterphoto -
