The idea for the stage set this tour was to create something naturally beautiful. Your eye knows when you’re looking at pixels vs seeing something real, and what you see here is essentially multiple layers of paper, lit from underneath with bars of light. Layers drop in and pull out throughout the show, and they take any color you can throw at them. What started at my kitchen counter as tests with rope lights and sheets of acrylic has turned into something really remarkable looking.

Wow I can’t believe he masterminded this all by yourself. I would just have assumed that someone was on your team to do this. But it does seem like you need to take control of every aspect of every performance and it’s beautiful💜💜

Seeing it here looked so beautiful. But in person it’s such an experience with the lights, colors, the band, your dreamy voice & of course the way you work those guitars.... 🔥❤️🔥❤️ #dreamtmayerlyrics #XO #Loveontheweekend #Rosie

It has been very captivating and simple at the same time. Main focus has been on the musicians and vocalists with a simple background to enjoy the entire experience... thank you @johnmayer

You came up with this? This is impressive. Brings the essence of art into the art. I feel like this is the start of a bigger sensory dynamic that can be achieved at shows.
