I got an opportunity to talk about another passion of mine with @townandcountryuk - biodynamic farming and how it can save the world (not to be dramatic). Link in the you-know-where ⬆️ Have you heard of #biodynamic farming?

arizona_muse @n.michele72 animals are the central focus on a biodynamic farm, they are absolutely necessary for the well-being of the farm’s eco system and their health is respected to the highest degree. Many biodynamic farms choose not to produce meat at all but simply have the animals for their rich and nutrient giving manure. Another interesting point about biodynamic animal husbandry is that often the herds are not segregated by gender as they always are in conventional agriculture. This allows the animals to have a very normal social life which they usually lack in a conventional setting. Calves are allowed to stay with their mothers until they reach adulthood in stead of being take at 6 weeks. Horns are never removed on biodynamic farms. The whole being of the animal is understood and respected. Indigenous people who find biodynamics report that it is very similar to how indigenous peoples understand animals. Finally, thank you for your comment, I hope this is helpful and please feel free to ask further questions if they arise. Personally, I do eat a responsibly small amount of meat and am not hiding that. Equally I very much respect the choice not to consume animals at all.

arizona_muse @sussurro.co yes permaculture is Also an amazing form of regenerative agricultural. I’m also just beginning to learn about ocean permaculture! It’s So exciting to see all these marvelous possibilities for capturing carbon out of the atmosphere

sussurro.co We use biodynamic principles as a subset of our permaculture design. Have you looked into permaculture at all? Makes so much sense ☺️💚

edicsato Yes! My mother follows biodynamic principles at the family homestead, it’s incredible how it impacts animals and plants.
