While in NYC for the #FortniteWorldCup this past weekend, something truly amazing happened on the subway. Someone had written the word "Nazi" on a seat. My boys noticed it. But so did the other passengers. They took out some hand sanitizer and began removing the marking.
THIS is America.
It was a very powerful moment of unity and understanding, and I'm grateful that my boys got to witness it in action. ❤️
...
Also, yes, I ride the subway with my kids. The most dangerous thing about it is wearing a Yankees hat into Queens 😂

If it only it was true that wiping out racist foolishness by children was the norm. Unfortunately current events would dictate otherwise. Good for them to know better to wipe out the ugliness, but that isn’t america at all. If it was, the lessons of WW2 would have been passed on, and graffiti such as this wouldn’t be such a large issue as it is. These children are the exception not the rule, at this point in time.

You were in my beautiful city...i'm not surprised! Lol...I am a Jewish woman in NYC, and am sickened to hear that the word was written on the train, but very proud to hear that people got together and removed it. Glad that you and your kids had fun! Yankees? Lol! I live in Manhattan now...but until 10 lived in Queens. Then Brooklyn for a very long time. So....Who knew? (Let's Go Mets!)

PS: To all of my NY family and friends. Yes I was in Queens for the Fortnite World Cup. It went all day into the night and I literally cannot speak hence us not hanging out. I’m sorry. And I’m frustrated. Especially because I wanted to see Tante Feigi in Brooklyn very badly. But my kids had the time of their lives especially with me silent and I’ll see you all next time.

@missmayim I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the way you present a modest way of dressing in public. In a world of young ladies dressing inappropriately, I applaud you for you unwavering wholesomeness. The fact that your children are so well behaved and caring stems from your influence. I think I’m officially a fan of yours for life! #bigfan

My husband and I visited NYC last week and on the way home from the Yankees game the entire train broke out in unison to Jay-Z's Empire State of Mind. Wish I could post the video here. Still get chills thinking about all the people/us coming together that night, smiling and singing at the top of our lungs. It was surreal.

With all the yelling, screaming and pointing of fingers aside what you witnessed is the REAL American spirit. While all the yellers are making noise the real America is in plain view in moments like this. Thank you for sharing Mayim. BTW, I think you are beautiful inside and out. :)
