When I was a weird, anxious, awkward teenager who didn't fit in anywhere, I discovered Rocky Horror Picture Show, and every Saturday at midnight, I got to be with my tribe. I was with people who were a little weird, like me, but they embraced it! They lived their lives out loud and without shame, and they inspired me to accept who I was. It was a turning point in my life, and something I'll be forever grateful for.
A few minutes ago, I got to meet Nell Campbell, who plays Columbia in Rocky, and she not only listened to me gushing about why she and the film mean to much to me, she let me have a picture with her. She was amazing and so kind!

Dude I wanted to come and meet You and Tim Curry this weekend so bad 😢😭😢😭 I grew watching Star Trek with my dad and totally crushed Wesley HARD and my dad introduced me to Rock Horror Picture Show as well and I became OBSESSED immediately!!!! I knew all the words!!!! Then again became even more obsessed with Tim in Legend when he played "Darkness" and you in Stand By Me which I had the soundtrack to on cassette tape that I knew all the words to all the songs and listened to it so much that I literally broke the tape and I went and bought a new one 😳🤗😁 I knew all the words to the movie as well and still actually know quite a few surprisingly not as much as I'm old now lol anyway I couldn't come however cause I just honestly couldn't afford it and luckily I couldn't cause I have hella migraines and was hurting soooo....bad today but watching your stories made me smile so thank you I wish I could've been there 😢

That’s so awesome and yet bittersweet. I was a geeky girl who grew up loving all things sci-fi and never fit in with friends or family. I didn’t know about ConLife until way later in life and just kept my geeky fandom hidden. It wasn’t until just a few years ago, I volunteered for my first Con and finally felt at home with My Tribe. It was a homecoming some 30+ years in the making. So I can only imagine how incredible meeting Nell was. 🥰❤️😁

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a life changer for me, and I so identify with those awkward teenage misfit feelings. Thankfully we have grown into adults who know that it's OK not to fit in, and to just be who we are.If only we could send a message back in time to our teenaged selves to let them know that things would get so much better eventually!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this post! I loved Stand By Me since the first time I saw it, and I fell in love with RHPS immediately and am lucky enough that I still have a local theater that shows it every other weekend. #dontdreamitbeit #gordielachance #flusteredmustard

Amazing! I loved RHPS, too, and for all the same reasons! We did the time warp at my prom by special request. It was Idaho. No one else got it, but the ten of us who time warped in our formal gear had THE BEST TIME and we’re all still in touch to this day. RHPS #ftw!

I am currently back stage at a local RHPS showing. I have been involved with Rocky Horror, off and on, for more than 20 years. It saved my life as an awkward, depressed, weird teenager and i’m happy to provide that safe place for the next generation.
