This looks like surveillance footage of a woman dressed as an old lady robbing a 711. But this is what my Dad posted today. This is who I named my nail polish color “Nana Hands” after ❤️ A beautiful “neshuma.” Gone for a few years now but not forgotten, she thought everything you did was beautiful and she would always peel me a carrot and say “here, take.” I have a specific memory of her telling me a story of a woman in her office saying she didn’t like Jewish people and my Nana responded “well I like you and I don’t care what you are.” She loved Kohl’s and always gave me Mentos as a present. She was filled with love and song but really really did not like cats, at all... which I thought was funny considering how loving she was to everyone. Born in Coney Island to Polish parents she was my last link to a generation that really spoke Yiddish. I’m lucky I got to spend time with her when she was younger. She was a true New Yorker and the first woman I ever saw gut a bagel (it saves calories if you take the fluff out) Miss my Nana.

7/25/2010.... I lost my dear, sweet Mom 9 years ago today!
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her, and her sweet soul and unique love for life!
Her favorite song was,”can’t smile without you”...
All we would do is laugh and sing when we were together.

snicker28 I always love hearing stories of people and their grandparents. I only got 8 years with my Nanny and 18 with my Grandma (maternal and paternal grandmothers). Never met my maternal grandfather and was barely 3 when my paternal grandfather died. No matter, what memories I do I have, I hold close to my heart and I love hearing stories about them from my parents. Your Nana sounds awesome and I’m glad you have such lovely memories of her ❤️

sarajmckinney My Nanna would give me Mentos too!!! She knew I loved the purple ones and would save them for me. Nanna “secretly” (not at all) giving us candy on road trips in my Mom’s Suburban growing up are some of my favorite memories with her. Nanna’s are the best ❤️
