Thinking back on a great weekend with my grandma. When life makes you get older don’t forget no one is too old to cuddle up to the ones you love. What are your favorite memories with grandparents?

My grandma passed away 8 years ago this year. She helped raise me and my brother, as my dad wasn’t around. Now that I’m an exhausted mom I appreciate her even more. She always took us swimming, she taught me how to dive into the pool, she would play our dumb games 24/7 “judge this dive Grammy.” She showed up to every game, every event, and when I say every, I mean every. Home games. Away games. She drove my brother all over the state for tournaments. She drove us to KC to watch the Cardinals play the royals. Her mom lived longer than her, so did her aunts. So I always expected she would live the same long life. That she would meet her great grandkids. She didn’t. I laid in bed with her in her last moments. Painted her nails for her. Sang to her. Hold on to her Ben. Life isn’t forever. I would do anything for one more moment, one more hug, one more laugh. Okay I’m crying goodbye. ❤️

Everything. But my favorite was sleeping in her bed after my Grandpa died, and I didn’t want her to be alone or be afraid. This continued from when I was 12 through my 40’s, even though I was married. We’d visit Grandma, my husband would sleep in the spare room and my grandma and I would talk and laugh into the wee hours!! Then up at 5:30 for coffee and more talking and laughing . Thanks for asking that question @higgins.ben. ❤️❤️❤️ you brought back amazing memories.

The day before my Ernie passed he and my dad both fell asleep the same way. Hands in their laps, with their mouths hanging open snoring. My dad is his oldest son. Nothings been as hard and my twin and I being sent to his house to pick out the things that he was supposed to have around him when he passed in hospice. It was a character building movement. I believe it made us be more like him. Thank you for asking this!

My Grandmother raised me. Undoubtedly, I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for her. I returned the favor and I will never regret the time spent preparing foods that were friendly for a diabetic in congestive heart failure, bathing and clothing her and the hours of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune watched. She lived 87 years and I'm happy to say that I have absolutely no regrets.

Soak up all the time you can with her. We lost my grandma almost 3 years ago and I miss her with my whole heart everyday. We spent so much time talking, laughing, going to breakfast or lunch together, running to doctors appointments, she took me to church with her all the time as a kid and just loved the heck out of all of us. Grandmas are the greatest! ?
