Thank you Bea! “Why would a fifteen-year-old downhill skier from New Hampshire with no artistic training spend her Saturday building a 108 ft. mosaic of a Right Whale in front of the Massachusetts statehouse? Climate change is so large and complex that we need all sorts of people from many places collaborating on the solution. So myself and over 1,000 young people decorated cardboard tiles with the things we stand to lose to climate change--mine showed the snowy mountains of NH--and assembled them into the shape of the MA state whale. Like the NH mountains on which I ski, these majestic creatures are disappearing thanks to climate change. As a ski racer, I know that we will only win on climate by accepting the fact that we are already headed down the mountain and committing to skiing our best to avoid catastrophe. Massachusetts is poised to help us make our first critical turn: passing a strong equitable carbon pricing bill. Bold policy like this will steer us toward a greener economy and provide a critical ingredient to a nationwide Green New Deal that will save the whales, my NH mountains and the people that love them both.”」7月22日 3時51分
