On July 21 1979, Bob Marley & The Wailers headlined the AMANdla Festival of Unity at Harvard Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. The event was organized to help ease racial tensions that had divided Boston, as well as raise funds to help provide aid for the freedom fighters battling apartheid in South Africa. As part of his contribution to the cause, Bob decided to cover the cost of the band's performance himself.
