Tonight was possibly the hardest night of my athlete career. 😔 To make so many mistakes, the most mistakes I’ve ever made, was difficult physically, emotionally, and mentally. For the first time in my career, I wished I could stop and leave the ice during my skate. Of course that’s not possible so having to push myself to finish knowing the result to be had, knowing the goal I wanted to reach by competing was no longer obtainable. To have to keep your head held high leaving the ice or entering the lobby when all you want to do is hang your head and run away. I always look for the positive in any situation, I look for the positive in life, I preach positivity and going after your goals no matter the odds....but tonight I feel as though all the air has been knocked out of me....
Of course terrible performance doesn’t define me as a skater, my character, or anything...in a week it will all be forgotten, I know this. But in this moment, knowing I didn’t meet the goal I set out to achieve, something I don’t know if I will have the chance to ever achieve again, I am not sure how to process what happened. I am strong, and I will move on, and I will rise from this. ❤️

You have even inspired my seven year old daughter that looks up to you, and is the reason she is so competitive on the ice. I have watched you skate for years, so I know that you are not gonna let this define you as a skater, that this was a learning experience where you’ll grow from... and be an even better skater because of it!!!! ⛸❤️
