Surf photographer Chris Burkard is obsessed with the coldest, choppiest and most isolated beaches on Earth. He isn’t bothered by stepping over chunks of ice on the coastline, and in his opinion, the rougher the waves, the better. Each picture Chris takes is precious, because he is forced to earn every stunning shot. “Anything that is worth pursuing is going to require us to suffer, just a little bit,” he says.
