I always thought LA was a dreamscape Of NY; the way the mountains burst through the buildings and overwhelm the whole homogeneous basin with wildness. I once had a brilliant friend who dreamed of a building in Central Park whose aspects amplified the natural sprawling rocks so it felt like living in a volcanic mountain jungle. I’ve always loved these rocks. This weird magical inverted, upside down, city of windows. The rectangular windows of blue at the end of each street. Always open. 🍎

carrenokate And reminder of how close the wilderness is even in Manhattan. Just take the Poughkeepsie train up the Hudson Valley or do the drive through the Catskills and see the same rocks in proper hill and mountainsides.

artdan62 I’m sorry to say but the last time I was there, there was still a big hole where the Twin Towers stood. I don’t think I’d recognise it today. 🤷🏻‍♂️☘️
