'In the 1970-80’s there were about 70,000 black rhino in the world. Excessive hunting and illegal poaching saw their population collapse to 2,500 by 1995. Today, black #rhinos are still critically endangered but their numbers have steadily increased to around 5,500. The story is much better for white rhinos, like this one we saw near Dolomite Camp in #Etosha. In the 1900’s there were just 50-100 left in the wild, today there are close to 20,000. A #conservation success story and proof that when we put our efforts in the right place, achievements are possible.' - @anywhere_we_roam -- Tap our link in bio for more info on traveling to #Namibia!
