Mr. Bungle released their final album ‘California’ 20 years ago today. @アヴェンジド・セヴンフォールド’s M. Shadows hated it the first time he heard it but has come to love the record. Read his firsthand account of how he came around to it and how it influences the band to this day, on revolvermag.com.

I don’t think I could ever unfollow you guys after posting this. You did us a service reminding us of a timeless classic. “Walkin in air up from the wheel chair, I’ll find the suicide that I deserve. Walkin on sand but it’s so comfortable forgotten where I am, here in the sun.”

I remember on the sno-core tour 50 yrs ago the bassist or guitarist of Mr. Bungle passed us off in an elevator as lowly nu-metallers... prob cuz of my soad shirt. This is still one of my favorite albums to this day.

Who gives a fuck about Avenged Sevenfold? Bungle was twice the band they were. If it took more than 5 minutes to love that album he’s a total idiot.

Took me about 8 years to like it. After the amazing Disco Volante it seemed so ordinary. But then it just clicked.
