Let's try this, since everyone is stuck on the fact that she kneels during the anthem: her AND a few of her nitwit teammates dropped our flag on a foreign field to pose for a stupid pic. Say what you will about how us triggered people "abuse the flag" by using the stars and stripes on napkins or clothing ourselves in it. Family crests, clan tartans, and yes flags, all have a long, important history in many of the world's nations. Armies would carry the colors of whomever they fought and died for into battle. To this day, most European's maintain a strong sense of nationalism that gets labeled as "racist" here in the US. And yet when Spain, France or Germany win a match for their nation, there is nothing but patriotic pride. I would have to care more about soccer to go back and check, but I will safely assume that the other nations of the world have never had players with such contempt and hatred for their own nation that they would neither stand for their own nation's anthem, nor allow their flag to get cast aside on the ground so they could ham it up for a picture. People are sick and damn tired of being told by entitled people just how awful we all are when this nation does more for people around the world than any other world power. This whole thing is beyond annoying, it's painfully stupid and needs to stop.

@kimwantstoknow my guess is that she plays on a team, a team that very likely has many different thoughts and ideas on life, politics, and religion. When I celebrate a win in which she participated, I celebrate the team. Sad to see she takes that spotlight. Could she have won on her own? No. Why suggest otherwise. Her platform, in my humble opinion, disenfranchised many that may not think the same. As a matter of fact, took their win and has dragged it into something it never was meant for. Agree to disagree she is not a hero and her example is not what I would wish for my daughter to follow. Proud, arrogant, crass and totally self absorbed.

And mariners....you should turn me in again for saying that. And Instagram isnt biased at all are they. Anytime we are pro America we get our comments deleted. Just so you know...she hates America and drops our flag on the ground. Incredibly sad that you think that's okay. Sad how liberal Seattle has become

@eaton.2009 probably because those who like to throw stones generally bark the loudest. I’m sure most people just “like” the photo and moved on instead of joining the sludge of the universe that is the comment section.

Unbelievable bigots and idiotic comments for a Champion. Not a women's champion who's fighting for equality, but just a simple champion. Love the post! We'll fly up from Hawaii to be there!

@babinskc news flash, there’s no such thing as toxic masculinity. The fact you do says everything about you. Btw, women don’t respect you and your lady runs around behind your back.??♂️
