So just after we took the “puppy” of the family to get a check up on her very scary ordeal with pancreatitis , we get home and Momma does a celebratory zoom around the yard and breaks her foot 😰. Please send any positive advise on having a dog with a cast. It is one thing I have not been through before ......

my baby dog was hit by a car and one of her little feet just came off. we took her to the vet and they put that foot right bach at his place. she was in so much pain and her hip was so bad, she even couldn't stay alone any minute. my sister and I take turns to stay with her day and night to hold her to go to the bathroom. she was a baby so she wanted to play around the house, so we have to look her in one bedroom so she moves the less possible. It have pass like 7 years after that, she is perfectly ok, she wasn't able to have babies and she runs some kind if funny but with a lot of love and pacience your baby dog will be just as fine like mine.❤️ love from Mexico @iamkristindavis

My dog broke her femur as a puppy and they couldn’t cast it, she had to have pins and screws put in, and had to stay off it for weeks! I recommend frozen food/peanut butter/cheese inside a Toppl (on Amazon) its the best toy for a dog ever and will keep her mind busy. Much harder to break than a kong in my opinion. If other pets and people get her too excited and she walks on it a lot and gets tired or in pain, try putting her bed inside an exercise pen with water and everything so she has a small space. ?

Sending love and healing vibes! Our Sheltie girl had two surgeries last year on both back legs, so I know what you’re going through. But there IS a light at the end of the tunnel...you will have an even stronger bond with her after she’s healed, and she’ll be happily running again! It took months for my girl to be able to climb stairs again, but 11 months later she can run again AND do stairs. Hang in there, lovely lady, you CAN do this! 🙋♀️❤️🐕

Our wee Pomeranian broke his front leg, surgery with plates and screws, splint for 4 months. Rest initially is really important. Carry up and down stairs, no jumping off or into things, no racing around, no ruff housing, elevate food dish so they don’t have to bend or brace. Patience. He healed just fine but lots of caution and rest while the bones heal is really important

Don’t worry ! They’re so strong -they act like nothings even happened in a few days. It’s then important to not let her jump around too much and keep her calm ! She’ll be just fine don’t worry .. A dog we rescued jumped off the first floor of a building broke her back and front leg , she’s absolutely fine now and zips around .. just give her a lot of TLC

Get her a kong and make her meals last as long as possible. Also get her a reindeer antler to chew on. We covered our dogs cast in a baby sock to keep it clean and a plastic bag when it was raining if she had to pee. We also brought her out as much as possible and carried her around so she could get fresh air! Good luck its not easy ? speedy recovery x
