Looking at the difference between these two photos today, and thought it was important to share something with all of you. 2nd photo, a few months ago: I was depressed. I had no appetite, was drinking way too much, smoking, couldn’t sleep, and couldn’t eat. But I was still taking photos on social media and pretending everything was great. I was going through a difficult situation that left me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually bankrupt and it had taken its toll physically. The feeling of despair is a relatable one, so I feel a responsibility to anyone else going through something difficult to say that it’s ok to not be ok. 1st photo is from the other day, and I am looking healthier. I have my appetite back and am treating my body correctly. We’re all too familiar with the “highlight REEL” of Instagram so I wanted to get REAL and tell you it’s not always as amazing as it seems. I’m sharing this because 1. I want to emphasize what we already know: Instagram is everyone’s best version of themselves and their lives. It can trick us into thinking everything is perfect in other’s worlds. Which is NOT true. We are all more alike than we think, navigating life with similar ups and downs; good times and bad. We never really know what someone is going through, so it’s unfair to judge/compare. 2. I hope this helps others who might be going through a hard time and feeling like they need to “have it all together.” Social media can create a crazy amount of pressure to live up to an idealistic standard of “perfection” (which obviously doesn’t exist!). Hard times happen and the most important part is putting one foot in front of the other, knowing the moment will pass, and being patient with yourself. No filter is going to take away from the normal ups and downs of life that we all have. Our imperfections/hardships make us all perfectly relatable, taking this journey through life together. I think the more we understand how connected that makes all of us, the easier and more rewarding this life journey can be. Love you guys!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I honestly wanted to comment the other day that you look younger & something was different. I thought it was just maybe that pic. It seems my eyes weren’t deceiving me. You were being drained before & we didn’t even know. Honestly even if we saw a change we would just assume it’s a beauty routine or something. We would’ve never known unless you told us. We are all better off for it. Definitely this Instagram community & beauty world. Perception isn’t reality. For everyone though life can feel like an island but if we just reach out there will be someone to grab onto. The more we share the more we know there are people who can relate & hold onto us if we feel we’re sinking. I hope getting this off your chest let out another part of the burden. It will honestly help so many. I still have to say hats off to you for persevering regardless. It shows us that tough times doesn’t mean we need to throw in the towel. We definitely need to sit down, reflect & treat ourselves better though. There’s only so long you can run on your reserve tank before you reach empty. Happy you’re doing better. Life’s a rollercoaster. Just try & take a deep breath before every twist, turn, ascent or descent. We’ll all be okay. We can do this together. Thank you for sharing. ♥️

Sadly this happens to all types of women, Even Women who don’t spend time on social media & have real issues or things happening in their life. Absolutely not taking away from what today’s generation goes through because for me that is hard to imagine I just want people to know if you are going through things as well , you aren’t forgotten. It doesn’t matter what caused it, you are special, you are loved & you are worth it! Will never forget how @oliviaculpo sent us this reminder ????

Yaaaas! Love this post. Your words are sooo wise and true. Thank you for being honest and sharing this with all of us. People always think your life is perfect because you are always smiling, with a lot of friends and family, traveling, making money... and they feel miserable comparing themselves with you. But you are just an human like anybody else out there, with some privileges and an extra beauty but still feelings and insecurities. We love you and admire you.

@oliviaculpo beautifully said. Life is hard, you’re a professional & you do your job no matter what. Take care of you. You can control your decisions & your journey. You’re the boss, the CEO of your life. Make smart choices because life is precious. I speak as a cancer patient fighting for each day. I plan to win the fight! I’m BVA strong & so are you! ?

I see the world through my eyes
As a vicious cycle of pain and lies
You’ll never see what’s inside of me
So back away and leave me be
I’m sorry to say
But stay away
I don’t want to hurt you
Even though it may seem cruel
You are there in everything I do
That’s only because I fell in love with you

You have no idea how much this post means to me. I have been in the same place. Drinking too much and not eating and thinking what did I do wrong. Pulling yourself out of a place so dark is so hard. I’m still trying myself. I am so happy you could do it! I’m still trying myself
