dennis_fisc_fly_eagles_fly I have no idea what they get paid!!! But I don’t think we’ve have put enough thought into this. To simple say we play the same sport as the men and they didn’t even qualify for the World Cup and we win we should get the same! No you shouldn’t and here’s why. First this is not a conversation about weather Ted and Betty who do the exact same job are paid the same because if so I would agree 1000% this is about sport and the rules change because women and men are NOT equal in sports and never will be. If it’s just because they won the World Cup that’s makes the argument even worse, for your case to hold water you need to be able to argue the whole sport of soccer which you can’t! Should a woman who plays at their highest level and is considered the best be paid as much as Messi or Ronaldo? Should the best WNBA player get a max contract 220 Million? Should the best women hockey players not make as much as the 12 million dollar Conor McDavid? Why not? Oh my god the horror!!! Well listen up the men who are professional don’t make the same in their respective sports!! It’s not so cut and dry.. in the future you should really stop and think about what your saying and examine all the angles. Nobody is saying what the US soccer accomplished wasn’t great! For women! But it’s just not on the same level never has never will be.. get it got it good! Now your women and more intelligent than men so I have no doubt that you will all understand this!

afrancesb The equal pay issue over women's sports, especially football is all I could talk about this World Cup. These girls, from all countries, gave their all, so how can they still be paid so much less? In the UK our girls still have to work FULL TIME JOBS whilst playing, and they got through to the semis still, bloody amazing! BUT WHY?! Its 2019 for Gods sake. The constant languaged used bugs me like mad too, if its mens sports its 'the world cup' or 'the ashes' but then you have 'womens world cup' and 'womens ashes', this terminology will always make it feel like womens sports are lower unless we change it. Why not 'mens world cup' and 'mens ashes'? Its all got so far to go still but my God haven't they all been bloody amazing!?

daunceyjoey We may not care about soccer but this is one of the BEST countries in world to be a woman. USA may not be perfect, but I have been more empowered here than my homeland of Canada. There is SO much more opportunity here for jobs and education. In Canada I was raped bought and sold, stalked and my earnings capped at 45k a year. I have found safety, peace and wealth in this country. Whoever wroTe this crap is ENTITLED AS FUCK. asherdunn06 NOBODY cares for sport soccer overall in AMERICA, it's a step child to MLB NBA NFL and NHL and women's sports overall nobody CARES for that either ask WNBA not even Women support that sport, and NBA flips the whole bill for a lost, and it's not about equal pay, it's about REVENUE etc stop being DELUDED! spiritedfitness @glamourmag most of us don't feel we're paid what we're worth. Is this about being paid equally to the men just for the sake of gender equality or is this about being paid based on value and worth. My salary is paid by someone who, by owning the company I work for, has the control and rightfully so...I chose to work for them, they decided to hire me.
